Getting Started

New to NCSA? Here are a few tips to help you get started!

Search & Discovery

Once you log in to the NCSA site you will see the Search tab at the top of the page, which will provide you with access to all of the recruits in our recruiting network. Here, you can search by name to gather recruiting data for recruits that are already on your radar. Or, you can use our search filters to quickly identify a custom list of recruits that could be a potential fit for your program.

In addition to core search filters such as position, state, zip code, grad year, GPA, etc..., a few of our more widely used filters include the following:

  • Search for recruits that have expressed interest in your program on the NCSA site
  • Search for recruits that have recently uploaded a transcript
  • Search for recruits that have indicated that they are open to attending a school in your state
  • Search for new recruits that have been added to our network in the past 30 days

Gather Recruiting Data

As you start to identify recruits in our network that could be a potential fit for your program, click into their recruiting profiles for access to valuable information to help you further evaluate for fit. NCSA recruiting profiles are built with robust recruiting data and key insights to help you more efficiently gather the information that you need.

  • Highlight videos and athletic star ratings to help you evaluate for athletic fit
  • Transcripts and test scores to help you evaluate for academic fit
  • Personal statements and TAP athletic profiles to help you evaluate for personality fit
  • Email addresses, phone numbers and social media handles to help you connect with recruits to learn more

Interested in a recruit? Click the follow button to keep them on your radar. Following an athlete will notify the recruit that you have followed them (a great way to generate interest), add the recruit to your Recruiting Board (an easy way to check back in on a recruit the next time you log in) and give you the opportunity to opt in to notifications any time the recruit updates their profile with new video, academic info or key stats.

Recruiting Needs & Preferences

In addition to actively searching our site for potential recruits, NCSA can work on your behalf to notify you any time we come across a recruit that meets your criteria and has expressed interest in your program.

To set your recruiting needs and preferences, navigate to the Recruiting Needs tab. Here, you can tell NCSA exactly what you are looking for:

  • Academic minimums (GPA, ACT, SAT)
  • Geographical preferences (i.e. only east coast, only recruits from IL, etc...)
  • Positions of need in each grad class (i.e. looking for a QB in the 2022 class, done recruiting for 2021, etc...)

You can tell NCSA if and when you would like to receive email notifications of recruits that meet your criteria:

  • The Match Email will provide you with recommendations of recruits in our network that meet your criteria.
  • The Follow Email will notify you any time a recruit that you follow updates their profile with new video, academic info or key stats.
  • The Favorite Email will notify you any time a recruit that meets your criteria adds your school as a favorite on the NCSA site.

Roster Openings

Roster Openings are a great way to fill an immediate need. Simply click on your name at the top-right of your account to open this feature. Here, post your roster openings to our site, and we can help to promote them to recruits that qualify.

  • NCSA recruits are notified of roster openings and will have access to them when they log-in to the NCSA site. Recruits that have interest can apply directly to your roster opening on the NCSA site (just like a job application) or contact you directly.
  • NCSA's team of sport-specific recruiting coaches will be notified of roster openings, which they can use to help promote your program and filter qualified recruits your way (via the Match Email).
