John Dunn

CoachJDunn@ncsasports.org877-845-6272 | West Virginia University Institute of Technology

I had a nine-year stint as a player and coach at West Virginia University Institute of Technology, where I was the head men’s soccer coach there from 2015-2018. As a player I was a USCAA All-American and held every GK record upon graduation. As Head Coach, I had a 41-16-6 record and guided the team to their first-ever conference championship in 2016 and the program’s first-ever conference tournament championship in 2017. The Golden Bears qualified for the NAIA National Championship every season while I was at the helm, including their first-ever trip to the national tournament in 2015.

My 2016 team advanced all the way to the NAIA National Quarterfinals and finished with the most wins in program history (18). During my tenure in Beckley, West Virginia, I has coached five NAIA All-Americans, 29 Academic All-Conference (KIAC/RSC) selections and 17 All-Conference honorees.

From WVU Tech I moved to Indiana Tech where, as head coach, I amassed a record of 50-12-3. The 2020-21 team tied the school record for wins in a season with 18. The Warriors won a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular season and tournament titles and twice appeared in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

I earned WHAC Coach of the Year honors following the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and my staff and I were named Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches following the 2019 and 2020 campaigns.

My most recent stop was at NCAA DI program Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville (SIUE). I was the 1st assistant coach and we qualified for the MVC tournament.

I am excited to join NCSA and use my experience to help young student athletes find a college soccer program that fits with what they are looking for.

I attended Radford University where I played collegiate soccer before getting into coaching. For the past 15 years I have coached various levels from club/travel to collegiate D1 soccer for both men and women’s programs.

The most rewarding part of working for NCSA is building connections with families and helping the student-athlete find their collegiate home. I am a people person and truly enjoy the conversations I have on a daily basis with both my colleagues and families and strive to find you, the student-athlete the best home.

I currently reside in Newport News, VA with my wonderful wife and amazing daughter, Sofia. When I am not helping families at NCSA, I am enjoying my family time and early morning runs.

I am the men’s soccer recruiting coach of NCSA Next College Student Athlete. I attended a four-year university at Louisiana Tech University. The most rewarded part of working for NCSA is that I get to I get to share over a decade of my knowledge of the college process with families and guide the families in the right direction of this recruiting process. Another favorite part of working with NCSA is not only having that connection with families but my colleagues. I am a team player, I am very determined, and I am always willing to put forth my best effort as if I’m ready to play on the pitch.

In addition to my role as recruiting coach, I am a frequent speaker with various high schools and clubs. When I am not working I like to race competitively and travel the world to gain new experiences.

I joined NCSA as a recruiting coach in 2022 and am thrilled with the opportunity to help the next generation of student-athletes find their dream school. I am a driven individual and I enjoy tackling challenges with a growth mindset and positive attitude.

When I’m away from work I enjoy spending time outside in our garden and foraging for wild plants and mushrooms. I reside in upstate New York with my partner and our Springerdoodle, Peaches.

Marco Carvalho

mcarvalho@ncsasports.org | University of Central Arkansas

I am originally from Salvador, Brazil and I came to the United States to play college soccer in 2010. I went to Iowa Western Community College for my first 2 years as a college player. During my sophomore year, I was chosen as a captain and was chosen as an All-American player. After my time at IWCC, I transferred to the University of Central Arkansas where I played for 2 more years and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education.

In 2015, I returned to IWCC to start my coaching career. After coaching for 1 year, I decided to continue my education so I went to Hasting College in Nebraska where I got my Master’s Degree in teaching while working as a graduate assistant coach. During my first year at Hastings, we won the national tournament at the NAIA level as an undefeated team. Upon graduation, I became a full time assistant men’s soccer coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX where I have spent my last 4 years as a coach.

Throughout my time as coach and player in different institutions and divisions, I have realized how important recruiting can be for student-athletes and their families. The best thing about working at NCSA is that I will be able to help each and every individual to find their right fit on and off the field.

I currently reside in Austin, TX with my wife and son but will soon be moving to Chicago, IL.

Ryan Kuster

rkuster@ncsasports.org872-271-8944 | Alvernia University

I attended a four-year University at Alvernia University where I am also currently obtaining my Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. During my 5 years on the campus of Alvernia, I was a member of the soccer team and a three-year captain. I earned numerous accolades at Alvernia including All-American, All-Region, Conference Player of the Year, and more. The last two summers, I spent time playing in the fourth tier of professional soccer in the United States (USL2) for Lehigh Valley United and Reading United AC in that order. I still have aspirations to push onto the next level as a pro.

I spent the 2022 spring season as a volunteer assistant for Alvernia, and currently work part-time coaching for FC Delco Soccer Club. For 5 years, I worked for Future 500 ID Camp which is the largest soccer ID camp in the country.

Currently, I reside in Hamilton, NJ with my partner, Christina, and my cat, Oliver.

I am really looking forward to helping student-athletes find the right school and to help make their journey that much easier. I am excited to connect with all of my NCSA teammates as I grow within the company!

Tiago Dos Santos

tdossantos@ncsasports.org312-638-4803 | Berkeley College

I came to NCSA in December of 2021 as a Recruiting Coordinator, after ten years of Men’s Soccer College Coaching at DII and DIII. Soon after moved into the role of Men’s Soccer Recruiting Coach in July of 2022. I also spent time at the youth level for soccer with the NY Red Bulls Academy for ten years in New Jersey.

NCSA gives me an opportunity to continue to help student-athletes and their families during the recruitment process, which to me is the most rewarding part of this job without working the crazy college schedule and still staying connected to the game. In my downtime, I still play for fun after playing all of my life (youth, high school, and college) and couldn’t ask for better ways to stay connected to soccer.

My wife and I reside in the Tri-State area and have all of our lives.

Daniel Brennan

DBrennan@ncsasports.org312-638-4803 | University of Louisville & Salisbury University

Prior to joining NCSA, I was an assistant coach at SIUE (DI) for 4 years, working primarily with the goalkeepers. Although goalkeeping is my area of expertise, I have learned a tremendous amount about different positions on the field and was involved in all aspects of coaching at SIUE.

Before I joined SIUE, I was a graduate assistant at McKendree University (DII) for 2 years, involved in all aspects of the program. With a smaller staff at McKendree, I was able to have an impact on all players in our program.

From 2017-2023, I was involved with the club SLSG IL, working across all age groups and platforms, including being the ECNL Director of Goalkeeping for SLSG IL. This experience gave me knowledge on the current climate of club soccer, as well as the abilities of athletes competing at this level.

As a collegiate athlete, I spent 3 years at the University of Louisville (DI) and 2 years at Salisbury University (DIII).

Since I began my coaching career, I have always been motivated by the opportunity to help young men reach the next level in their playing career, whether that be playing in college or playing professionally. NCSA is now the next step in my journey to continue helping others reach the next level in their playing career.
