NCSA Women's Soccer Recruiting Coaches

Brittany Jones

CoachBJones@ncsasports.org877-845-6272 | Stetson University

I have been coaching soccer at the collegiate and youth levels for nearly two decades. Collegiately, I have had the chance to coach within the NCAA DI, DII, and within the NJCAA, where I coached a top 15 program that I founded.

Over that same time period, I developed the skills necessary to help our players continue their academic and athletic careers with four-year colleges. The most rewarding part of working for NCSA is that I get to connect with families and guide the families in the right direction of this recruiting process. Soccer has brought so many positives to my life, and I am excited to give back to the game and help others experience the same benefits.

In addition to coaching teams, I have also served on the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Interregional Staff, the Florida and Georgia ODP staffs, and as a US Soccer coach educator. I have a National B coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I have also taught college courses at Florida Southern & Dayton State College. As a player, I was a four-time Academic All-Atlantic Sun Conference Player and a two-time All-Conference Athletic Performer at Stetson University.

Pete Kowall

CoachKowall@ncsasports.org312-999-5392 | Western Michigan University

I've been coaching soccer for more than ten years. In 1989-90, I coached at Kalamazoo College, where I was honored as the NSCAA Coach of the Year for the Great Lakes Region in 1990 and en route to being selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Coach of the Year. In 1991, I was the assistant coach at Maryland when the head coach was April Heinrichs (who was the head coach of the 2004 U.S. Women’s Olympic Soccer Team). From 1992-1993, I coached at Drew University, a Division III school in New Jersey, where I compiled a 21-13 record in two seasons. From 1994-1996, I coached at Michigan before moving to Illinois State, where I was Head Women’s Coach from 1997-2007. From 2008-2013, I coached at the University of Illinois at Springfield as the Head Women’s Coach. And since 2013, I have been the Women’s Assistant Coach at Indiana State.

I have helped many young people find a college to attend and play soccer. I love watching families go through this process and helping them achieve their academic and athletic goals!

Ellis Badillo

EBadillo@ncsasports.org | Roehampton University

Born in London, England. I earned a BSc in Sports Studies and Health Studies and an MA in Sport, Culture, and Development from Roehampton University London. Following graduation, I was a college lecturer in the ‘International Politics of Sport’ at my alma mater. As a player, I won a British Universities National Championship with Roehampton University London and played at a semi-professional level for more than a decade.

I held coaching positions with both Fulham FC and Wimbledon FC youth academies in England, before moving my coaching career to the US in 2001. After working in various capacities within youth soccer, I took the Women’s Assistant Coach position at D1 Rider University. I spent 10 successful years at Rider, helping turn around a previously losing program. During this period the Lady Broncs made 9 appearances in the MAAC playoffs, with 4 semi-final appearances, and in 2014 their first conference championship in program history. Earning a berth in the NCAA National Tournament.

I am an avid student of the game and hold a USSF ‘A’ License and an Advanced National Diploma. I also work for US Soccer as a Youth National Team Scout. I have extensive experience of the college soccer landscape and understand the inner workings of the recruiting process. I look forward to helping future young athletes on their journey.

Britta Marmon

CoachBMarmon@ncsasports.org877-845-6272 | University of Iowa

I grew up playing competitive soccer as a goalkeeper and was recruited to play in the Big Ten. I was a four-year starter at the University of Iowa. After I concluded my playing career at The University of Iowa, I spent 2 seasons coaching at Indiana State University as an assistant coach. I moved on to become the top assistant at the College of William and Mary, where I spent 7 seasons before stepping away to start a family. During this time I co-owned and operated a small business with my husband, called Marmon Muscle. We built a small sports performance facility where I was able to continue coaching young athletes for their respective sports. My experience coaching soccer and in the strength and conditioning world gave me a great perspective on what it takes to get to get to the next level, on and off the playing field. While my college coaching experience was at the DI level, I have a strong familiarity with DII, DIII, and NAIA schools. I was very fortunate to be a part of many success stories at the collegiate level and have seen many players go on to play in college and professionally. While I loved coaching the game and watching my players succeed on the field during competition, my passion was in the process. Big moments on the game field are created during the small moments in practice, in the weight room, in the film room, etc. I love to watch young people succeed through effort and preparation. This is why I am so excited about my position here at NCSA.

Jamie Haigh

JHaigh@ncsasports.org | University of Massachusetts - Lowell

I attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell and I was a 4 year member of the women’s soccer team. I was named a captain and All-American in my senior season, a two-time member of the All-Academic team, and in 2019 I was the first women’s soccer player in program history to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, I left the next day for Kokkola, Finland to pursue my dream of playing soccer professionally, where I stayed for the next 3 seasons.

I was fortunate enough to be offered an assistant coaching position for my alma mater and returned to the United States to begin my collegiate coaching career. After 5 years at both UMass Lowell (D1) and Long Island University Brooklyn (D1), I had the opportunity to play and work for the Boston Breakers of the NWSL. I have also had the opportunity to teach Physical Education and advise students at an amazing school in Los Angeles, CA.

Through soccer, I have learned so many life lessons and it has helped mold me into the person that I am today. The places the game has taken me and the people I have met will always have a lasting impression and I am excited to inspire the next generation to experience the same!

I currently reside in Fort Lauderdale, FL with my husband and our Australian Shepherd puppy, Jax.

Nick O'Shea

CoachNOshea@ncsasports.org877-845-6272 | Oakland University

I graduated from and played soccer at both Schoolcraft College (NJCAA) and Oakland University (NCAA D2). After playing a few years professionally I started my coaching career as the women’s head coach at both the colleges I attended in addition to some clubs including the Houston Dash and IMG Academy.

I enjoy helping players achieve success both on the field and during the recruiting process. I have three soccer-playing daughters so I like to think I have gained some valuable knowledge that helps me be a more insightful and successful recruiting coach. I currently live is Sarasota Florida and have been married to Leslie-ann for over 20 years.

Kathleen McArthur

kmcarthur@ncsasports.org |  Davis & Elkins College

Sports have always been a part of my life! I was a four-year collegiate women’s soccer student-athlete at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. During my college years, I earned the WVIAC Rookie of the Year award and three All-Conference awards. I also earned Magna Cum Laude academic honors while majoring in Physical Education K-12 before going on to attain a Master’s degree in Sports Studies from Bemidji State University. Prior to my college years, I was a multi-sport athlete in high school and was an all-conference track and field hurdler as well as a member of the basketball team.

I have spent the last 13 years as a college coach in NCAA D1, D2, D3, and the NAIA, and am excited to bring those experiences to help student-athletes and their families during their recruiting process! I am extremely passionate about self-worth, building relationships, and serving others.

I love traveling, trying new foods, and photography. My favorite time spent is with my wife, son, and four dogs.

I have played and coached soccer all over the country!
